The Ritz Carlton Chicago
In the first phase of a multi-phase contract, McHugh renovated 90 guest suites with new wallcoverings, paint, and carpeting as well as upgraded bathrooms featuring arctic-white glacier vanities, grey stone floors, separate shower and toilet rooms. On the 15th floor, crews built out the new 2,600 sf Club Lounge with sweeping views of the Chicago skyline. The fitness center has been expanded to 2,700 sf and includes new cardio and strength training equipment, studio space for fitness classes. Major upgrades to life safety systems included stair pressurizations, fire alarm upgrades, and sprinkler system upgrades.
The second phase included the complete gut renovation of the 60,000 sf 12th floor lobby, restaurant and meeting space. This included new MEP systems with life safety requirements.
Both phases of the work were completed while the hotel remained in operation.
