McHugh Construction expands to Nashville

Nashville Post – James McHugh Construction Co., a Chicago-based general contractor for which a Nashville office opened in 2014, has added two construction professionals to its local team.

Sean Mullen joins McHugh as senior project manager and brings more than 20 years’ experience managing design-build construction and renovation for planned communities and hospitality. He will oversee all aspects of construction operations for McHugh’s Nashville project portfolio, which includes ongoing construction of the 420-unit Kenect Nashville in Midtown and the 93-room Fieldhouse Jones Hotel in East Nashville. Mullen previously held roles as senior construction manager for both Snyder Langston and Lendlease and holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Zach Renk joins McHugh as superintendent. He will support field operations, including preconstruction, budgeting, safety and compliance, and quality control functions on McHugh’s Nashville projects.

Renk has nearly 15 years of experience in construction operations, having supervised the construction and renovation of multifamily and commercial structures across the Midwest. He previously served as superintendent for RG Anderson Company. Renk is a graduate of Ohio University and holds a master’s degree in financial economics.
