51st Street Bridge and Roadway Rehabilitation
McHugh is rehabilitating 1,800 feet of roadway, rebuilding the exit ramp from the rail yard and replacing eighteen rail bridges along 51st Street in Chicago. Crews are demolishing the existing bridge structures and restoring the concrete substructure. The project is located in an urban area with both freight and commuter trains passing through. Careful planning and coordination is required to ensure that train schedules are not adversely affected and that pedestrian and vehicular traffic along 51st Street proceeds safely.
