Favorite Project K2 was my favorite project to date. The building and the rest of K Station have changed the skyline of Chicago from the west. Every time someone drives the Kennedy Expressway, they see McHugh's work on display front and center.
Most Memorable Project Being part of almost every building in the K Station development has been the most memorable. The area was largely undeveloped just 6 years ago and since then, we've built four highrises and a park. To see the area emerge as one of the most desirable neighborhoods in the city has just been remarkable. And it's where I started my career with McHugh and got the chance to work for a great company.
Most Challenging Project The most challenging project has probably been EnV (161 W. Kinzie). The site was located next to the elevated tracks and the Merchandise Mart, which made for a very tight construction site and the building itself had a complicated window system.
Biggest changes and/or trends you see in the industry Technology, specifically the use of BIM, Tekla, and mobile applications
What do you like about working for McHugh? The people and McHugh's core values. The company really cares about the well-being of its employees, clients, and subcontractors.
